Cooling Issues

It’s been a rough month for the poor car.  I have been having heating issues and finally they are fixed.  I took my radiator into a shop and had them install a Megan Racing radiator.  The car came back with a slashed radiator hose and I fixed that.  Now since I have replaced the radiator, flushed the radiator fluid, burped it, and fixed the slashed hose, I have no cooling issues.  Trying to order a stock thermostat and springless radiator cap and I am done with the cooling, for now.  More to come soon.

Pics coming up

Took some pics of the car the other day. The car wasn’t washed in the pics but you can’t tell. This is how it looks exactly after I got it. Was a busy day today. Removed the spoiler, shortened the pull on the e-brake, changed out my driver door handle, and removed the silencer. I bought a Megan Racing 3 Row Radiator but I am going to wait till I have the Greedy front mount intercooler, before I install it.  Anyway here are the pics.

Bought the RX7

Today I sold my Skyline and got a White 1994 RX-7 with 115k km on it.  The vehicle is in good shape.  Engine and turbo was rebuilt in November.  Only problem is there is a coolant leak coming from under the dash.  I am going to take it into a shop tomarrow and have it repaired.  Look forward to pics once I take some.

Selling the Skyline

Quick update.  Been getting quite a few calls and emails on my Skyline.  A guy came by today and looked at it.  He seemed to of fallen head over heels for it.  Hopefully the guy gets the wife to give him permission to buy it.

The Journey Begins

So I am sitting here in Japan and the car culture here is huge.  I fondly remember the days when I was a young man, here in Okinawa, and you would see the cars rolling down Kokusai street on a Saturday night.  They would be chromed out, neon lights flashing, and everyone would enjoy the parade of all these custom vehicles.  I decided it is time I take my disposable income and build myself the ride, I’ve always wanted.  At the moment I am shopping for an RX7 FD3S in good condition.  I plan on making this a show car.  I’ve always loved the RX7 FD3 and feel now is as good a time as any to buy one.

As with every journey, one must first know their destination.  Then you must map out how you are going to get there.  Goals are good but become meaningless when you do not know the steps you will have to take.  A person should have a clear vision of their goal and the route to get there.  I have spent a large portion of my time maping out this goal with a clear picture of the finished product in my head.  This way I know what I will need next and each step becomes easier and my motivation stays high.

For fellow RX7 enthusiasts I have included a bunch of my favorite links.  I hope you enjoy the information provided in this blog and I look forward to showing you the pictures and narating my journey.
